What SiteCity is

SiteCity is a directory of local businesses. We list basic facts (name, address, phone, website, category) and link out for everything else. We are not a party to any deal between you and a business, and we do not employ, endorse, license, or guarantee the businesses listed. Check a business yourself before you hire it.

Listings and accuracy

Listings come from open data, business owners, visitors, and our staff. We work to keep them accurate but cannot promise that any listing is complete, current, or correct. A “Verified” label means we reviewed an ownership claim; it is not a recommendation. You can read how listings are ordered and labeled.

Service requests

When you send a service request, you ask us to share it with businesses that may be able to help, and you agree that they may contact you by phone or email about it. You are free to accept or decline any offer. Any work, price, or warranty is between you and the business.

Submissions and corrections

When you add a business, suggest a correction, or report a problem, you confirm that the information is true to the best of your knowledge. Every submission is reviewed before anything changes, and we may edit, decline, or remove any submission. Do not submit other people’s reviews, photos, or text, or anything you do not have the right to share.

Claiming and managing a listing

You may claim a listing only for a business you own or are authorized to represent. We may ask for proof and may approve, decline, or revoke a claim at any time. Owners sign in with Google and are responsible for keeping that account secure and for everything done through it.

You keep ownership of the descriptions, photos, logos, and other content you add. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, resize, and reproduce that content on SiteCity and in materials that promote your listing on SiteCity, for as long as it is on the site. You confirm you have the rights to it and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights. Photos and logos are reviewed before they appear.

Featured listings

A Featured listing costs $49 a month or $490 a year per listing, plus any applicable taxes. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your listing page; the listing stays Featured until the end of the period you paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable. We will tell you in advance of any price change, and it will apply from your next renewal.

Featured listings appear first on their category page and are always labeled “Sponsored.” Paying does not buy a Verified label, a review, or any statement that a business is the best. We may remove a Featured listing that breaks these terms; if we do so without cause, we will refund the unused part of the period.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or spam information, or pose as someone else.
• Claim a business you are not authorized to represent.
• Scrape, bulk-download, or copy the directory, except as allowed by our robots.txt.
• Interfere with the site, get around rate limits, or try to access accounts or areas you are not allowed to.
• Use the site or anything from it to break the law or send unsolicited marketing.

We may block access or remove content that breaks these rules.

Our content and third-party data

The SiteCity name, design, guides, and articles belong to us. Some listing data comes from the Overture Maps Foundation (CDLA-Permissive-2.0) and Foursquare OS Places (Apache-2.0) under their licenses. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something on SiteCity infringes your copyright, email privacy@sitecity.org with the material, where it appears, and your contact details. We will review it and remove it where appropriate.

Disclaimers

SiteCity is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise the site will always be available or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of SiteCity or from any business you find through it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from content you submit, your use of the site, or your breach of these terms.

Ending your use

You may stop using SiteCity at any time. We may suspend or end your access, or remove a listing or claim, if you break these terms or if we need to in order to protect users or the site. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) survive.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the site or email Featured listing customers. Using SiteCity after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
